π° YoTown Heads into Summer Mode β¨
Yo Town Scoop β May 28, 2026
If it feels like the whole Valley hit the gas this week, youβre not imagining it.
Schoolβs wrapping up. Grad parties are everywhere. Cookouts are back. People are out later. Downtown feels a little busier. Mill Creek is packed the second the weather breaks. This is the stretch where Youngstown starts acting like summer is officially here, even if the calendar wants to argue.
That means this weekβs edition is all about getting ready for the season we wait all year for: fuller weekends, more time outside, more people stopping by, and a lot more movement around town.
Whether youβre thinking about a new place, trying to keep the house under control, or just figuring out how to make life feel a little less hectic before June really gets rolling, weβve got you.
Now here's what's happening.

ποΈ FEATURED GOOD BOY:
π‘ Warm weather, open houses, and the homes people have been waiting to see
Sunshine does something to Youngstown.
People get out, neighborhoods wake up, and all of a sudden that βmaybe we should move this yearβ conversation starts sounding a lot more real.
If youβve been thinking about buying, selling, upgrading, downsizing, or just getting a feel for what your house might be worth, this is a smart time to talk to Hailey Ditullio.
Around here, the market can pick up fast when the weather turns. Buyers start looking. Sellers start prepping. The right house doesnβt always sit long, and timing matters more than people think. So does having someone local who understands the neighborhoods, the pace, and what buyers are actually paying attention to.
Hailey can help you get clear on what your next move should be, whether youβre fully ready or just in the early βletβs see what this could look likeβ stage.
Focus on the Outside
This is the time of year when everything starts stacking up at once.
Games. Yard work. Parties. Visitors. Last-minute plans. Kids in and out. A kitchen that somehow never stays clean for more than fifteen minutes.
Thatβs where All Spruced Up Cleaning Co comes in.
Paige and her team help Mahoning Valley families keep the house clean, calm, and handled without giving up an entire weekend to catch-up cleaning. They offer residential and commercial cleaning with the kind of consistency that matters when life gets busy.
And honestly, this is when a clean house matters most. People drop by more. Doors stay open. The floors take a beating. You want the place to feel good without spending Saturday chasing crumbs and wiping counters.
If your weekends are already filling up, let All Spruced Up take one big thing off your plate.
π‘οΈ Summer's Coming β Is Your Insurance Ready?
Before summer gets busy, make sure the important stuff is covered
When the weather gets nice, people are out driving more, opening pools, getting boats and motorcycles ready, hosting family, working on houses, and making summer plans.
It is a good time to make sure your insurance still matches your actual life.
Moore Family Insurance in Canfield can help with auto, home, renters, motorcycle, business, life insurance, and more. They are a local Allstate agency located at 545 N Broad St in Canfield.
This is not the most glamorous thing on the weekend list, we get it. But it is one of those adult things that matters when something goes sideways. Around here, between storms, potholes, deer, busy roads, home projects, and small businesses growing, it is worth having someone review your coverage before you need it.
Call Preston Moore and ask for a coverage review.
Moore Family Insurance in Canfield does auto, home, renters, motorcycle, business, life β basically anything you need covered.
π§ 1-800-Plumber
The weather is nice. A home service problem can still wreck the whole weekend.
This is the time of year when people in Youngstown finally want to be outside.
Patios are open. The yard needs attention. People are coming over. The weekend fills up fast. Which is exactly why a plumbing issue, clogged drain, or heating and cooling problem feels even more frustrating right now.
1-800-Plumber +Air Youngstown helps with plumbing, drain cleaning, heating, cooling, and emergency services for local homes and businesses.
It is one of those numbers you hope you do not need, but you will be glad to have if something goes sideways. Because when something stops working, nobody wants to spend half the day scrambling for help instead of enjoying the weekend.
π Head Spa
The first week of summer is fun. Your brain still might need a break.
This time of year gets busy fast. The weather is nice, the weekends fill up, everybody is out doing something, and before long your brain feels like it has been running in the background nonstop.
That is what makes Youngstown Head Spa feel especially timely right now.
Located in Boardman, Youngstown Head Spa offers a luxury scalp and relaxation experience designed to help you slow down for a minute. Their Signature Head Spa Experience includes scalp detox and exfoliation, stimulating massage, aromatherapy, warm steam therapy, and neck and shoulder tension relief.
It is the kind of quiet reset people say they need all the time and rarely actually book. And the nice part is, you do not have to leave the area to get it. It is right here.
Packed schedule. Tight shoulders. That low-grade stress that never fully goes away.
Youngstown Head Spa in Boardman does luxury scalp treatments β detox, exfoliation, massage, steam, aromatherapy, the whole thing.
β¨ School Reunion Season
Reunion season has people thinking about one thing: how they want to look when they walk in
This time of year, the calendar fills up fast with graduation parties, weddings, summer events, and for a lot of people, high school reunions.
If you want to feel a little more confident before one of those βhavenβt seen you in yearsβ nights, Skin Solution MedSpa in Boardman is a local place to start.

π Triathalon
One of the best local summer events to sign up for or cheer on
The first week of summer always gets people thinking about doing something active, getting outside more, and actually showing up for the things that make the season feel fun.
That is part of what makes the Spring Classic Sprint Triathlon such a good local event to keep on your radar.
The race is scheduled for Sunday, June 14 at 7:30 AM and includes a 500-yard pool swim, 14-mile bike ride, and 5K run. It is open to individuals and teams, and registration is limited to the first 135 athletes.
It is a great first triathlon for someone who has been curious about trying one, but it is also a strong local race for experienced athletes who want to compete close to home. And even if you are not racing, it is still worth supporting. Events like this bring people together, get people moving, and remind you there is a lot happening around here beyond the usual weekend routine.
The Steel Valley Triathlon Club also helps connect local triathletes through training opportunities, social activities, and support for races across Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
A local race worth showing up for, even if you are not the one racingβ¦
